AGREATDAY

[.logo][.logo]     is an apparel company rooted in hockey tradition and culture. It was founded in 2020 by two former hockey players to share and grow their love of the sport. The brand developed apparel as well as an annual magazine, with collaborations from artists and fellow designers. We designed and named the company as well as worked to create the accompanying first-line of merchandise.

LOGOTYPE  The name AGreatDay stems from the famous hockey coach “Badger” Bob Johnson’s quote; “It’s a great day for hockey.” The mark draws inspiration from the motion of a puck and features a custom typographic word mark.

INSPIRATION  The brand was inspired from hockey heritage and the sport’s rich culture, aiming to elevate the game through drawing from its past. To develop the brand we researched and developed references and a visual look-book. These references and stories became previews on social media to help launch and tease the brand.

JOURNAL  AGreatDay aimed to not only make quality apparel but to also report on hockey culture. We collaborated with the brand to create the inaugural issue of their journal, developing the identity, art direction and editorial design.
